As we approach the end of this half term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on how busy and productive the term has been. Our children have been working incredibly hard during this exciting time and we can see so much progress in them all since the start of the year.

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful and refreshing half term, with quality time spent with family and perhaps some Halloween fun or Bonfire Night celebrations. I’d also like to extend a warm welcome back to the new half term and hope your first week has been a positive start.

As we are now several weeks into the half term, I am excited to share that we have had a fantastic and busy start to the new school year. Our students have jumped right back into learning with great enthusiasm and energy!

I can' t quite believe this is the final newsletter of the year and my final newsletter to you as headteacher of both Corpusty and Foulsham primary schools. This week has been full of endings and goodbyes as we have sent staff, Year 6s and other children moving on with our best wishes.

What a busy week of excitement it has been at Corpusty Primary: sports day, move up afternoon, welcoming our new intake of Reception children and Year 6 transition days at high school.

The end of an unusual week has arrived: we have had some glorious sunny weather, some of our Year 5 and 6s enjoyed an evening visit to the cathedral in Norwich and the children have enjoyed a day off on Thursday!

It has been a busy and fun week at Corpusty which has included some of our Year 1 and 2 children enjoying competing in an athletics event at Taverham.

It has been good to welcome children back to school after the half term break and lovely hearing stories about the fun they have enjoyed during their week without school.

We were pleased to welcome Mr Elcock, the new headteacher for September, to the school on Tuesday. He enjoyed getting to know parents, children and staff. He will be spending time at the school across this term, so do look out for him and give him a warm welcome.

Friday has arrived again and the half term break is fast approaching too! How the weeks are whizzing by! We must be having fun: 'time flies when you are having fun!' The week has certainly been full of lots of smiling children and exciting progress in learning.

Last week I was wondering if spring had arrived; this week it is feeling as if summer may be here! It has been glorious weather for the children to enjoy a school trip to Sheringham Park today.

It has been a tremendous first full week of learning at Corpusty. Children are: settling back into the routines of school; enjoying being with old friends and making new friends; and beginning to stretch their brains as they remember past learning and learn new things.

We have reached the end of another busy week full of learning, although we are within the summer term the weather certainly hasn't felt very summery over the last week.

What a wonderful settled and peaceful return we have had to school this week. The children have returned to school ready to learn and keen to see their friends again after the Easter break.

It has been a joy to welcome the children back to school after the half term break. The children are looking well-rested, healthy and ready to go for this short half term before Easter.

I can't quite believe that the half term break has arrived already! However, the timing is perfect for many of the children (and many of the staff too) who look ready for a restful week after a half term packed full of hard work alongside illness for many also.

We were thrilled to welcome PC Bailey and his colleague into school this week. Tuesday was 'Safer Internet Day' across our nation and we enjoyed celebrating this day with a special assembly and a talk from the police.

After another week full of learning, Friday has arrived again. This week all children have enjoyed an additional session of physical activity through a 'WOW Active' session with Premier sports coaches.

This week in some of our assemblies we have been thinking about how each of us contributes to the culture of our school. We compared each person to a teabag! Each one of us in the school 'leaks stuff' into the school culture and impacts it.

We have reached the end of another week; a week that has brought some beautiful cold, frosty weather. The children have definitely settled back well into the new term and have had a packed week full of learning experiences.

The spring term is always the term in which children tend to make great strides with their learning; with attendance levels being high since our return from Christmas, I am excited to see what this will mean for all of the children's learning.

December has arrived and so too winter it seems! It is lovely to see children dressed in warm winter coats so they can enjoy outdoor activities whilst keeping warm.

Friday has arrived again! We have been thrilled to welcome Mr Lord to school this week, whose role within Synergy Mutli Academy Trust is to oversee all of the primary schools.

Although this has been a dull, wet autumn week weather wise, life at Corpusty Primary has definitely not been dull: the week has been packed full of learning and smiles.

I can't quite believe that half term has arrived already! I am sure that the children are ready for a more restful week which will help them to return to school on Monday 30th October refreshed ready for another half term full of fun and learning.

This week it feels as if everyone is fully back into the routine of school; our new Reception children seem settled, and it feels as if they have always been with us!
