At Corpusty Primary School we use the White Rose Maths scheme as a base for our curriculum which gives a clear progression of skills tied in with the national curriculum to ensure that all objectives are being covered.

This provides children with a deep understanding of the subject through the concrete, pictorial and abstract approach. The progression of skills document is key to ensure that we know what objectives each year group needs to cover within each unit. As we have mixed year group classes, most of the time children are covering the same unit within their lessons but they are working on different learning objectives based on age related expectations. We track progress daily to ensure rapid progress. Teachers plan opportunities for reasoning and problem solving skills to ensure these are embedded throughout the week.

Our medium term overviews,  are always weighted based on the results of our formative and summative assessments that we do within our classes. At the beginning of each area of learning, children complete a short ‘pre-assessment’ to assess how much they already know about the subject area. These pre-assessments enable teachers to plan more accurately for their classes needs. After a sequence of learning has been taught, children complete a ‘post-assessment’ to show progress throughout the sequence.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
